Why use a separate eye cream?

This is something I never bothered with whilst I was younger however as I’m getting older and noticing the dark circles, sagging and lines; using an eye cream is something I've started doing.  Whilst prevention would have been better, at least it’s something I’m working on now.

From an anatomy point of view, the skin around the eye is much thinner than on the rest of your face.  It is also more delicate and sensitive.  Using a heavier, standard face cream is more likely to result in puffy eyes (exactly the look I’m hoping to avoid).  One of the many benefits of using eye creams is that they’re specially formulated for this thinner, more sensitive area around your eyes.  Another benefit with eye creams is they often include ingredients which help prevent issues such as dark circles, sagging and lines.

I apply a tiny drop (grain of rice size) to my ring finger and very gently dab around the eye area (without actually putting any in my eye).  Be careful not to drag or pull the skin which may result in more sagging.

My current favourite eye cream is the Neal’s Yard Remedies Organic White Tea Toning Eye Gel.  It’s cooling and refreshing and contains white tea, with its powerful anti-oxidant properties.  For more information see https://uk.nyrorganic.com/shop/HeatherWinterton/product/0535/white-tea-toning-eye-gel-10ml/

As always, thank you for reading and if you have any questions or comments, I’d love to hear from you below.
